AEI Education Policy Debate Series: $190 Billion Was Not Enough. The Feds Should Spend Billions More on Learning Loss.
On Thursday, May 16, Education Lab faculty co-director Jens Ludwig will join other education policy experts in a debate hosted by the American Enterprise Institute (AEI) as a part of its Education Policy Debate Series.
In the wake of COVID-19, the federal government sent $190 billion in pandemic relief funding to public schools through the Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief Fund. That money runs out this September, but pandemic learning loss remains a problem for a generation of public school students.
In this installment of the American Enterprise Institute’s (AEI) Education Policy Debate Series, education policy experts will debate the motion: “$190 billion was not enough: The federal government should spend billions more on pandemic learning loss.”
