The Crime Lab and Education Lab are one organization that oversees two portfolios of intricately related work. For most positions, staff will work on projects that fall within both the Crime Lab and Education Lab portfolios or they may focus on one portfolio for a period of time. There are some exceptions where positions are designed exclusively for either the Crime Lab or Education Lab under one portfolio of work. This information will be clearly noted in the job description for each opening.

Data Project Associate

The University of Chicago Crime Lab and Education Lab are seeking a Project Associate with strong technical skills to work on large-scale social policy research projects designed to reduce crime and improve educational outcomes. The analyst will work on a portfolio of projects across a variety of areas that span both criminal justice and education. This position requires an individual who is able to work as a part of small research teams running multiple projects concurrently.

Research Analyst

The UChicago Crime Lab and Education Lab are seeking Research Analysts with strong technical skills to work on large-scale social policy research projects designed to reduce crime and improve educational outcomes. The analyst will work on a portfolio of projects across a variety of areas that span both criminal justice and education. The successful candidate will have experience in applying a variety of statistical modeling and data analysis techniques to datasets in real-world settings.

Compliance Associate

The Compliance Associate supports internal communications and operations related to previously executed data use agreements (DUAs). The role involves performing routine assignments related to regulatory compliance programs, including the interpretation of systems to identify areas of risk and coordinates internal audits. With a high level of direction, participates in compliance documentation, compliance training, and compliance committee formation.
