Martin Barron

Martin Barron, Ph.D., is the Senior Director of Data and Analysis for the Crime Lab and Education Lab. In this role, Martin oversees our team of over 20 Research Analysts and all facets of data and analysis strategy. In addition to Martin’s role assisting a number of projects across both the Crime Lab and Education Lab, Martin works on ensuring our data team meets the highest standards of research quality, ensures the security of our partner data through rigorous procedures and policies, and works closely with our IT team to ensure our team has the computing infrastructure they need.

Martin holds a Ph.D. in Sociology from SUNY Stony Brook. Prior to joining the Education Lab in 2017, Martin worked as a Senior Data Scientist at NORC at the University of Chicago.
